There is certainly a lot of information out there that can lead bloggers up the garden path. Whilst writing awesome content is great, this alone wil not just get you traffic, there is a lot more to it than that. It would send alarm bells ringing for me, for anyone who suggested otherwise!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing with us today :-)

Wow, What’s an brilliant article? I would say the content material of this post really justifying its title ” Shocking Tips You Will Come Across In Blogging”. You really mentioned some very true and useful points here.

Two points of this article attracted me most “Just Write, The Traffic Will Come!” and “pin Your Articles For More Content And Less Writing!”.

Keep writing more useful stuff :)

The last thing you want to do is get into Google’s bad books! Certainly learn more approaches that can work in your favor, but at the end of the day you should be trying to work with Google and not against them.

Thanks for leaving your feedback here. Have a great week!

I have to say that I have seen them all. The one that really gets to me and is the most dangerous is toying with Google.

Playing around with a platform that is completely out of your control can backfire on you in the blink of an eye.

I believe there are things you should absolutely do to better your chances with SEO but its appeal is becoming less attractive. You never know if you will become one of those site that takes a huge hit because of a little update.

Keep your efforts diverse for sure!

Nice one Catherine!

Tricking Google is not the way to go, and if you start blogging trying different tricks, it’s unlikely you are going to be around for the long haul. Blogging is a technique that needs to be learn’t and taking the short cuts are not going to do you any favors.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with us :-)

I think we just have to be careful with the ‘blogging tips’ we read and try to apply. We must keep away (at all cost) from anything that’s tricky or blackhat.
Anyone who wants to trick Google will end up tricking himself.

I love the quote from Pat. I think that’s an exciting way to go about it. It generates results. People love to hear about what makes you succeed so they can try to emulate. That’s how you get the money.

These are tips we read almost everywhere Hi Catherine but unfortunately, they are misleading. Stick to experience

Hope you are having a great week

You are so right about the amount of blogs that lack a clear vision. Without one, how can the bloggers expect their blog to succeed. Looking for short cuts to boost your blog is not effective for long term success. Instead it is preferable to learn the ropes, work with Google and set up a schedule that is going to project your blog forward for long term growth.

You once again proved you don’t like to follow herd instint while writing a post and always bring a new idea to attract more readers.

I can’t say these are tips. These are bitter realities associated with blogging. If someone is brave enough to swallow them he can become a successful blogger else will just be looking here and there in search of a magic wand to succeed in a while.

Google is smart and we should also try to be smart to become its favorite. But unfortunately most of the newbie bloggers try to be over-smart and collapse in quite a short time.

We often mention there are millions of blogs and a few thousands are being added daily in the list of millions. But we miss to mention hardly half of million of them have clear concepts of blogging and they are not searching short-cuts to succeed as there is never ever any kind of short-cut in this field.

Even in showbiz one can succeed monumentally with one blockbuster movie but here in blogging with one post or one product it is impossible to become successful.

Thanks a lot for sharing another wonderful post with a lot of interesting and equally thought provoking points.

Certainly pro bloggers are pro because they have used a system and that system works. They have worked hard to get where they are, and their advice should certainly not be knocked. The difficulty comes when you have competing advice, because who should you trust. This is where it comes down to your own style, the type of blog you are running, what you want to achieve, how you want to achieve it, and what you feel comfortable with.

There is no ONE right way with blogging, but that certainly doesn’t mean that advice from the Pro’s shouldn’t be followed. For instance, I openly promote the ‘Learn how to blog’ program here on this site. I feel that it will benefit many new bloggers to achieve their goals and the program covers everything that you need to know. I have used this program and I feel it provided a great deal of worth.

HOWEVER, this does not mean that this program is the only program that will work and I understand that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea! At the end of the day, we are all responsible for our own learning and we must evaluate what will work best for us and our own learning style.

Thanks so much for sharing your ideas with us :-)

Loved the post. Points number 5 and number 6 are classic because I was told those things by a few bloggers when I first started out … and would you believe that these were some bloggers people would classify as “experts”? Really makes you think.

As great as this article is, it’s so sad that many bloggers are told to do these things and make these mistakes in blogging. Then when they do make those mistakes, they’re not sure what they did wrong because they were doing what they were told to do.

The whole thing is messed up honestly.

I think the only advice anyone ever needs is to constantly test. Don’t do something based on what someone else says or is doing, test it out for your self to see if it works for you or not and test some other methods as well. Every blogger, blog and audience are different so you have to just test what works and what doesn’t. Just my opinion.

Have a great week.

- Andrew
