Daily Blog Tips To Keep You Motivated

If you could pass on some daily blog tips to someone, what would they be?  To spend time each day working on a blog post, or perhaps spending daily time on social media?

One of the things that many new bloggers struggle with is keeping their momentum strong.  It is all very well to start off excited and determined, but this can often fade and bloggers feel discouraged when they are faced with the competition of others.  Do you ever find yourself concerned at how you can stand out from the crowd?

Daily Blog TipsThese feelings are all normal, for both new and even experienced bloggers.  You don’t have to look too far to find other bloggers in your niche.  Every niche has competition and every niche is going to have bloggers doing it bigger and better than you are.

Should you let this discourage you?  Absolutely NOT!!

If you let this get to you, then your blog will never grow and you will never be one of those bloggers that other’s are striving to become.

It is easy to get caught up with thinking “but that blog looks better than mine”, or “but that blogger has far more experience and knowledge than me”, but at the end of the day, EVERY blogger had to start at the beginning.

The more experienced you become, the more you will start to stand out, but the important thing is to keep going.

It is at these times that it is important to reflect on the purpose of your blogging and how you are going to achieve your goals. Daily blog tips is about getting your focus right, and ensuring that your ground work has been done before you attempt to build the castle!

4 daily blog tips to keep your blog strong!

Daily Blog Tips #1: Love What You Do

Is blogging a passion for you?  If not, then this is the first hurdle that you need to overcome.  If you are not passionate about either blogging or the subject that you are blogging about, then you are going to find the journey a long and tedious one.

Let’s face it, blogging takes time.  You may have started blogging to earn an income to give up that day job, but when you first start out, you will need to work your blogging around your day job.  This means coming home after a long day, maybe having to deal with the kids, then start dinner and before you know it’s 8pm.  NOW you have to START blogging!

If you do not really love what you are doing, how much enthusiasm do you think you will have for starting to blog at 8pm when your favourite TV shows are about to start?  I’m guessing not much!   You need to have excitement about your blog and a drive to get you off the couch and start focusing.

If this sounds all too much, then I would highly suggest you think about your niche and find one that does excite you.  You will thank me for that later!

Daily Blog Tips #2: Learn From Others

Daily Blog TipsOne of the things that will really help you move forward is to learn from others.  Use the experience and knowledge of others to help you get where you want to be.

Whether you join a blogging course to help guide you through the process or whether you read as much as you can from other bloggers, the learning is important!

Would you expect to practice in medicine if you didn’t first attend University and learn the profession?  Of course you wouldn’t!  So why would you expect to be an expert in blogging if you first havn’t learn’t how to be!

So you have been blogging maybe 6 or 12 months and you don’t know it all yet?  Wow…I’m not surprised…are you?  Anything worth doing well is going to take time, and education and blogging is no different to any other profession.

Try not to read SO much that you become overwhelmed though.  Take it one step at a time and set a goal to maybe learn one or two new things each week.  Reading a whole heap of material from professional bloggers and trying to implement everything they do instantly will only leave you feeling overwhelmed and depressed.

You CAN’T instantly be one of those top bloggers  and know EVERYTHING there is to know in five minutes….so stop trying!

Take the learning at your own pace, and commit to a learning schedule that is suitable for you.  The great thing about the learn how to blog program is that it is divided into 12 modules for you to easily work through at your own pace.  It is designed that way, so that you don’t feel stressed and your learning is maximized.

Here on Blogging Tips 101, we have also started a great new feature each Friday called “Friday’s Featured Blogger“.  Each Friday we will be interviewing a blogger for their blogging tips and tricks.  This is a great resource for you to be able to learn from others, so it is worth checking out!

TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME and you WILL REACH YOUR GOAL!

Daily Blog Tips #3: Don’t Place Unrealistic Expectations on Yourself

Do you have thousands of followers on your Google Plus and Facebook Page?  What about your email subscription list?  You don’t?  Ok…the reality is that building lists, and followers will take time.

There is no magic wand that you can wave that is suddenly going to bring you those thousands of followers that Darren Prowse from Pro Blogger has.  Do you think Darren started off with thousands on his list?  Of course not…he would have started with a small number just like you, but that number grew over time.

BUT…are the few followers that you do have important?  ABSOLUTELY they are!

It is those followers that are going to help you grow your blog, give you ideas, connections and the drive to keep moving forward.  Take care of those followers and provide them with material that they want to receive.

Daily Blog Tips #4: Keep A Regular Posting Schedule

Even though it can be tough at the beginning, the important thing is to keep going.  Keep that posting schedule tight, so that this becomes a habit.  You will find that your posting becomes more frequent as you become more experienced, but the important thing is to actually have a schedule.

You are not going to kid yourself that what you are writing about has never been written about before, but what you can do is put your own spin on this material.  It is your personality that will shine through in your writing, and this is what people love to see.

You may be providing the exact same material as someone else, but the way you have written is resonates with their understanding.  We are all wired differently and we are naturally drawn to different people and different personalities.  Use this to your advantage, and set your tone and style.  This is what will help you stand out from the crowd.

Where are you currently in your blogging journey?  Are you in the learning phase with lots of ideas to move forward?  Or perhaps your blog is now one of the successful ones and you have a journey to share? Do you have some daily blog tips that other’s would find useful?  Please share your thoughts with us below.

You are spot on with this one Catherine!

I have to say that #3 is extremely important in blogging and just in life period.

I think it easy to read about these bloggers that make all this money and makes it sound so easy, you feel you can do it in no time.

Most of these bloggers that make that huge income have been at it for a while.

You can expect to get the same results for an experienced blogger. One who blogs for 10 hours a day when you only have 2 hours a day to blog!

Take care Catherine…

It can be very hard to keep that motivation going can’t it Steven. It is definitely harder when trying to juggle blogging with another job and people often don’t realize that these full time bloggers are just that….full time. You can always get more achieved if you are working at something FT rather than PT.

The trick however is to keep persisting so that you can eventually be one of those full time bloggers. It is possible, but it wont be for everyone as not everyone will have the determination to see it through.

Thanks for your feedback :-)

Such a hard thing to stay motivated, especially when waiting for the results to show… Great tips here, thanks.

Motivation can be the key thing that either kills or drives your blog forward. Whilst it can be difficult at times it is important to keep looking at the bigger picture and giving yourself encouragement to keep going.

These are some nice tips for beginners that are commonly ignored.I want to add one, don’t compromise on the quality of your content.

For Example, writing blog posts daily is good but try not to ruin the Quality in doing that.Always proofread and put some value in your content before hitting Publish</strong button.

Absolutely, that is a crucial to keeping a blog strong. You should never be comprimising on the quality of your posts and if that means you need to take longer proof reading them and posting less frequently, then that’s what you should do. Everything you put on your site should be of value, and if it’s not, it should be left alone!
